All Air Conditioners are not created equal
Air conditioners may seem like they are all the same, but their Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) can vary considerably. The higher the SEER number, the more significant the monthly electricity savings. A 14 SEER air conditioner is the minimum efficiency available. However, we currently offer a variety of air conditioners that start at 14 SEER and go up to 20 SEER.
We also offer many air conditioners that have advanced features, such as 2-stage compressors and variable fan speed operations. These features not only increase your comfort but can provide additional energy savings. Free Second Opinions on System Replacement Estimates. PACKAGED UNITS
We carry complete packaged systems, including Packaged Air Conditioners, Packaged Gas Furnaces, Packaged Heat Pumps, and Packaged Hybrid Heat. Like individual units, these package units carry SEER, AFUE, and HSPF ratings. The higher the ratings, the more energy-efficient the unit will be. We carry a wide variety of package options that include advanced features such as quiet operation, variable fan speeds, and 2-stage compressors.
HEAT PUMPS
Heat pumps are a great addition to your home because they work to provide both heating and cooling. Like air conditioners, heat pumps also have SEER ratings and Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) ratings for measuring heating efficiency. Higher SEER and HSPF ratings contribute to increased energy savings. A great alternative to electric heat, heat pumps, works the same as an air conditioner in the summer, but run in reverse in the winter to heat your home. The heat pump system also comes with an additional heating source, most often an electric heater for cold winter days. Our heat pumps also have advanced features, such as 2-stage compressors and variable fan speed operation, contributing to additional energy savings.
Air Handler
The air handler is the in-home component of a heat pump system. It is a two-part system, including the fan and the heating/cooling coil. Each air handler is designed to be used with a particular refrigerant. We will make sure that it is matched with your exact heat pump or air conditioner to provide optimal functioning. The air handlers we offer come with variable and multi-speed features that provide enhanced comfort by slowly increasing your thermostat setting rather than coming on at full speed. These features mitigate “cold air blow” and drastically diminish system noise.
GAS FURNACES
Modern high-efficiency furnaces can save up to 50% in operating costs over furnaces that are ten years old or older. Earlier furnace models may have Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) ratings of 65% or less. The minimum AFUE rated furnace that can be sold in the United States today is 80%. The current product offerings we have start at 80% AFUE and go all the way to an extremely efficient 96.6% AFUE rating. This increased efficiency due to higher AFUE rates can significantly reduce your gas bill.
